Armin Casa – The History of Colakog Rendezvous

COLAKOG Rendezvous was born from a lifelong dream to build a place that would not only welcome guests but also preserve our family’s name, memories, and heritage for generations to come.

Located in Del Carmen, Siargao Islands, Philippines, COLAKOG Rendezvous was established as a hospitality business with a vision of creating a warm and welcoming gathering place for people from different places and backgrounds. The name “Rendezvous,” meaning a meeting or gathering place, reflects our desire to bring families, friends, travelers, and guests together in a comfortable and memorable setting.

The name COLAKOG carries a special meaning for our family. It was chosen in honor of my late grandfather, Mayor Nicolas “COLAKOG” Vitanzos, who served as the Mayor of Del Carmen. His name represents our family’s roots, our connection to the community, and the values and memories that we hope to carry forward.

COLAKOG Rendezvous is more than a hospitality business. It is a family legacy—built from a dream, inspired by our family’s history, and intended to be passed on to the generations to come.

The property consists of three distinct residences, each carrying a special meaning:

• Armin Residence – The main house and primary family residence.
• Telyang Residence – A rental residence named in honor of my mother, Estrella.
• Poncing Residence – A rental residence named in honor of my father, Ponciano.

Together, these three residences represent three generations of our family’s story—our heritage, our parents’ legacy, and our hopes for the future.
